iBackgammon! (Golden Edition) App Reviews

The application is not stable! On an iphone6 and and ipad 4, it continously crashes in the middle of the game. When you restart it, in order to resume the game you lose all the information (moves) previously made, so it becomes this visious circle where you have to replay the same dices. Quite frustrating...otherwise the interface is simple, but efficiently made...

Who ever programmed this needs to go back to school. Too hard to play with flashing men and yeah...its just bad.

I often find myself tapping two or three times trying to select a piece. I do have bigger fingers, but I have tried other backgammon games without issue.

The game is not statistically accurate whatsoever. As you increase the difficulty the game simply increases the odds of it rolling the "perfect roll", not just playing smarter moves. I can reluctantly accept losing the starting roll 4 times out of five (wish I had that kind of consistent luck), but you can almost predict what the computer will roll based on where your open men are. If you plsy backgammon at all, you will be very disappointed at the AI. This could be an awesome game, but instead, the game is just extremely annoying and frustrating. Graphically, nice looking game though (the one star given) - could be a winner if the AI was fixed.

Rolls of the dice always favour the computer as other reviewers have noted. Bugs in the end game. When my very last man is bumped, the game is awarded to the computer even though all his men are still in play. So close to being a good game.

After the last update, any match/section point calculation won by the player is counted as won by the opponent. Please fix it asap and i will rate as 5 stars.

Easily the best Backgammon in the app store. Now make an awesome Mancala game, Intent Software! (pretty please?)

Ive reviewed quite a few of the iOS Backgammon options. This one does not stack up well. AI: 1/5 The computer is below average, makes incredibly stupid moves, even on the highest difficulty level. This makes it not worth playing and extremely easy to beat. Graphics: 4/5 Actually above par, if not for the slow animations this would be my go-to 2 player backgammon app. As it stands, checker moves take too long. Controls: 3/5 Standard controls. Online: N/A which is too bad because I find this to be a key feature in backgammon apps. Analysis: Does ok if you are playing against another human player. Impossible to stand if you want to play the computer and non-existent if you want to play online. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER BACKGAMMON APPS. Of course I will update my review if developers make it better. Thanks.

This program is useless. In order to win at high-level it just gives doubles to computer opponent,. not really a game.

This backgammon app gives you a v. pleasant game experience w/o crashes. RECOMMEND GET IT WHILE FREE {This is only ver. 1.0 so it will be getting better and price will B up.} REVIEW: App is GR8 for 2 human player vs. player (PVP) and runs smoothly (3G iDevice w/ iOS 5.1.1). As that as my preferred way to play iBackgammon it gets 4-1/2 Stars from me. [app AI untested]

Nice graphics but...a lot of wasted space. Cant stand the blinking pieces. Control of pieces is lousy. Deleting it now

I have only started to play. Best looking graphics and simplest, clean, interface by far. I love the large board and no clutter. I look forward to new versions. Do not change the appearance please. I recommend speeding up the moves, or offering speed options.

Im very new to the backgammon, but am enjoying this game very much. I must admit that Im beginning to suspect that something is "amiss" with the regularity with which my opponent (the game) rolls doubles. Ill give it some time before deleting it, but Im watching. And Im counting...

This is the best version of a Backgammon app that Ive found thus far. The blinking pieces and movements are a bit clunky and annoying. The computer player algorithm does seem to cheat a bit, but its still fun to beat it into submission multiple times on the hardest setting (it definitely will submit when trying to double after a certain point). Overall, its been a good functioning app with no crashing and accurate statistics.

Great game, pretty good ai, the graphics are great too. It would be nice to be able to tweak the colors of the wood and the pieces. Biggest issue: Wont rotate both ways on the iPad, so it wont prop up properly with a Smart Cover.

The graphics are great, but thats about it. It misplaces pieces, bounce pieces off and on the board at random. Bought the game on the basis of the positive review, I was sorely mislead.
